Salt on the Beach...Australia Day!!

our second day in Oz and we had a cheeky little beach party to go to, 40 minutes away in Freemantle, so we got a maxi taxi to take us all. I was panicking that it would be too hot and I would need a hat for the day...but the whole party was in the shade..under a marqui like tent thing!! So I was happy! In true Liverpool style, we all snuck vodka in with us..I had a bottle in my top..kev had 2 in his shorts! Security didn’t get on to the fact that he was walking like john Wayne! ha...it lasted us well throughout the day!

The party was a laugh, live djs playing, including laid back Luke (show me love)..but I do not remember him gracing the stage..he was meant to be the headliner..I don’t think he turned up?? I could be wrong, I was quite drunk at this point.

One of my favourite parts of the day..the homemade pizza I ordered to myself...ha..I snuck off and sat myself down and tucked in..chorizo and pesto toppings...mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

As the party went into the night, everyone got a little bit crazier..people were on peoples shoulders, people were swilling themselves with champagne (not the best champers iv ever tasted to be honest), people were doing the worm across the floor...mentioning no names! ha

I was absolutely snap happy ad ended up taking 92 pictures???? why?? I will not be putting them all on here..just a selective few will do..you will be able to see the drunkenness slowly creeping in..we go from presentable..to a bit dishevelled...to inexplicable!! haha..

I’m a little red in places...I didnt apply my factor 30 properly the day before..my lips are also a funny shade of red..not a good look!

Hong Kong...Smashed it....

The hotel we stayed at was fab..the Novotel! Smart room..new year's decorations..free access to tinternet! We made a big mistake with the sleeping pattern...should have stayed awake as long as possible...instead, we chose to have a nap when we got there at 4pm...never woke up till 10.30pm..then couldnt get back to sleep all night...was up every half hour..and eatin pringles at 4 in the morning!! We suffered with jet lag for the whole visit after that!!! So next day, we were up at 6.30am..headed down for breaky. Best buffet breaky iv ever had..and we got our monies worth! ha..
We played tourist all day..went to victoria peak...which takes you to the highest point of Hong Kong..views are fab..however..we went on the mistiest day ever!! At the top of the peak, you get to "show your love" for the peak by writing on a paper heart and hanging it up! Love anything like that me...
The rest of the holiday we got round all the main tourist areas...3 bus tours, visiting old and new HK territories...the tours started off great...then it got a bit much by the fourth hour on an open top bus..we had wind burns to the face...and i nodded off a few times...too tired!! ha
Most nights, we visited the street markets..and the symphony of lights..we walked and walked and walked!!! When we ate out, we had a go at using chopsticks too..felt to embarrassed asking for a knife and fork...I could barely hold them..Kev was a natural!!

We visited the Hong Kong convention centre (where the handover of HK from UK took place, 1997) and we got mobbed by a bus load of tourists..not too sure where they were from..but it was like they had never seen a white, blonde haired girl, they kept taking pictures...kev kept saying.."they think you're someone you're not!!" haha...I think he was a bit snubbed that they didnt want any pics of him...haha...nah..they grabbed him too..posing left, right and centre!!

Goodbyes at the airport....

Tuesday 18th January arrived, we headed the airport, 2 car fulls...Me and Kev (obviously), the mother, 2 bros, a sister, the sisters boyf and the nephew Georgie..and kevs mum and dad!! We had a goodbye cup of coffee at costa...then it was time to part ways...the hugs came out...Georgie burst into tears because he wanted to come with me and kev...bless...kev gave him £20..that seemed to reduce the tears!! haha...hes going to buy toy story figures with it apparently!! We travelled from Manchester airport to Heathrow..then from Heathrow to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific...the plane was smashin..2 floors..although we didnt get a sniff of the top floor...1st class and all that!! I enjoyed the snacks and the meals...kev..not so much...so i found myself donating my bread to him everytime,so he wouldnt waste away! I spent whole time watchin Friends...Modern Family anf Sex and the City...I had earphones on..so wasnt on to the fact that I was laughing so loud..people began to stare!! haha....I could care!!!

The Family Leaving Par-tay!!

So we got the pack together to say goodbye...well almost the whole pack...my little brother Aroon was in hopsital, he decided to have 3 seizures the night before..he picks his moments..i think he was trying to steal the limelight!! ha...vick (the mother) put on a smashin spread..something for everyone, even those vegetarians!! We had brothers, we had sisters, cousins, uncles, aunties and even granies...we found skippy under the stairs (an inflatable kangaroo i robbed from another party a few years back...thanks Jenner!!), he made an appearance...he didnt have much to say though...and we had inflatable palm trees, which im sure have absolutely nothing to do with Oz....but they looked nice!
We had a smashin night..i tried my best to work my way round everyone for a chat...to be honest, i got sick of answering the same question... "so what date do ye go?" There are only so many ways you can answer that one...18th january....january 18th...the 18th day of janvier, 10 days from now...I was that close to stamping "Departure Date: 18th January" on my fod just to avoid it ... so heres a few piccies from the night...check out the fab cakes (made by Rach).

13 days..and counting

Not long to go now..im feeling a mix of emotions!! ha..excited but so anxious and a wee bit nervous!!!

Should we rely on the Medicare card in Oz?? or is insurance the way forward?? Questions, questions??

I havnt startred packing yet...I work best under pressure, it will be rite!!
